Cherish practices Swedish and deep tissue massage, and has a particular interest in athletes, both serious and weekend warriors. She is currently working to complete kinesio-tape certification and plans to integrate it more thoroughly into her practice. Cherish looks forward to providing a wide array of tailored massage services to the local community.
Greater Louisville Massage Therapy is called to serve its clients by providing the highest ethical and professional Standards of Excellence in our therapists, treatments, and business practices.
Cherish Joostberns graduated from Advanced Massage Therapeutics in 2016 after finishing her Master’s degree in Community and Economic Development. Coming from a background of physical conditioning through 20 years of military service, she felt body wellness was integral to a happy, healthy and productive community. Hoping to increase understanding of how to make bodies last longer and feel better, she decided to pursue massage therapy.
For the past eight years Casey has dedicated herself to her clients’ needs and well-being, all while exclusively serving the greater Louisville area. Casey has worked with a range of trained professionals from spas to pain management facilities to maximize and follow through with treatment plans. Casey’s education has allowed her to customize each and every massage session, catering to individual needs.
As Casey graduated at the top of her class at Southwestern College in 2007, she gained her diploma for therapeutic massage in an accelerated 8-month program. There she was taught to practice reflexology, aromatherapy, deep tissue massage and Swedish massage. Casey has chosen through her required continued education courses to specialize in orthopedic massage, massage for edema, TMJ disorder relief, fibromyalgia relief, and acupressure to best serve the diverse range of client needs.
Overall, Casey’s passion is naturally bringing back the enjoyment of living a pain free lifestyle. We welcome you to come relax and experience therapeutic massage with Casey Barker, LMT.
Having a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Evansville has created a solid foundation for the benefit of Sarah's clients. Understanding the anatomy and physiology of the human body has propelled therapy sessions to a new standard of massage. She studied massage therapy at Bodyworks Massage Institute in Evansville, Indiana and Louisville School of Massage in Louisville, Kentucky. As a Board Certified Practitioner for over 10 years, she has seen the benefit this strong educational background has been for her clients' therapy.
Sarah works on a wide range of populations. From post-operation and special needs, to clients needing stress management. She is also a certified pregnancy massage therapist who loves working with mamas trying to get pregnant, are pregnant, or who have just had their little one. Each client is treated with tenderness and receives optimal care. She wants each of her clients to know that their sessions don't end when they leave the office; they are extended with tips and techniques for in-home care as well. Everything from stretching, light weight exercises, or stress management techniques.
Sarah lives a very active lifestyle and encourages each of her clients to do the same. Whether it's biking, CrossFitting, swimming, or enjoying some much needed kayaking time, you can rest assure that she is an example for living life! (She even created her own trademarked product line....Go -ing. Apparel!)
She is proud to have served, and continue to serve the great people of LaGrange and surrounding communities!
